She Liberty explores the fragile persistence of freedom in an age of fragmentation.
Created from a single photograph of the Statue of Liberty captured in New York in 2024 with a damaged Nikon D3100, the series transforms a documentary image into a meditation on memory, disappearance and resilience.
Through digital fractures, dissolving architectures and shifting horizons, liberty ceases to be a monument and becomes a fragile human presence suspended between apparition and erasure.

I do not photograph monuments.
I photograph their disappearance.
She Liberty was born from a damaged camera and a damaged image.
Rather than correcting the fracture, I chose to inhabit it.
The resulting works transform the Statue of Liberty into a shifting presence where memory, architecture and light continuously dissolve and reappear.
ABOUT THE WORK
The original photograph was taken in New York City in 2024.
Technical failures produced unexpected distortions, fragments and luminous ruptures.
These imperfections became the foundation of the project.
The defect was not removed.
It became the language of the work.
FINAL REFLECTION
The monument fades.
The idea survives.
Liberty is not a monument.
Liberty is what remains when the image disappears.
