Laguna Fantasma — Venice, Unmade

Venice emerges here as a fragile apparition — a city that flickers between presence and disappearance.

Through blur and visual erosion, its contours dissolve, its monuments lose weight, and its image begins to drift. What once seemed stable becomes uncertain, almost intangible.

The work does not seek to capture Venice, but to accompany its fading — to grasp the moment when the visible slips away, leaving only traces, echoes, and the persistence of a myth.

Thanh Ton Tran is a photographer based in Switzerland.

His work explores the instability of perception and the transformation of reality through photographic images, where places gradually shift between presence, memory, and disappearance.

He has exhibited in a virtual exhibition on ARTBOXY and in a physical group exhibition at the Centre culturel Hessel in Orbe (2025).
